POLICY

ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION IN ATHLETICS
OR
OTHER EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In order for any student to participate in any athletic or extra-curricular activity, that student must have maintained a passing grade in at least 4 major subjects during the previous marking term.

PROCEDURE

The Guidance Department will at the end of each quarter, provide the principal with a list of students who are deemed ineligible for participation.

A. Major Subject area is considered to be Math, Science, History, English or any class identified as being included as a common core subject so outlined by the Education Reform Act of 1993.

B. Passing Grade for this policy is considered to be a final average of 60% or higher.

C. Incomplete grades are not counted towards eligibility.

D. Eligibility for fall participation is governed by performance in the 4th quarter of the previous year.
