ELA *
We
just finished learning about the Strange and Mysterious stories- Tell-
Tale Heart, Monkey’s Paw, Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, The
Necklace, and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. On February 27 we went on
a trip to see the plays of the short stories.
Now we are learning about Mythology. We have read three myths- Brer
Rabbit and Brer Lion, Coyote Steals the Sun and the Moon, and Brer Possum’s
Dilemma. Now we are learning about the Greek gods and goddesses like
Zeus and Aphrodite and the Heroes.
* Math- CMP *
In CMP, we finished learning about symmetry, scientific notation, mean,
median, range, and mode. We have learned about box-and-whisker plots
as well.
Now we are learning about equations in our new book. Our every day warm-ups
review previous things we have worked on in the past.

Math- Algebra *
In algebra, we are learning about solving equations in many ways. We
have learned how to solve all different kinds of equations. We have
also reviewed on geometry, angles and mean, median and mode and angles.
Also we are learning about how to solve negative and zero exponents
and solving large problems with exponents in them. Everyday we will
do a warm-up that relates to what we will be learning that day or what
we have learned in the past.
* Social Studies *
We are learning about many different events in history. We have learned
about the Revolutionary War and how America broke away from the British.
We have also learned, about the Constitution and how our government
was formed. We learned about the French Revolution and the War of 1812.
We’re learning about our presidents and the dates that they ran.
We are now learning about the differences between the Northern states
and the Southern states. These differences eventually led to the Civil
War.

Science *
In
science we have just finished our Hot meets cool lab. We have
learned about Charles and Boyle's law, Temperature conversions,
and the molecular theory.
We learned about compounds, mixtures, pure substances, heterogeneous
mixtures, homogeneous mixtures, solutions and colloids. Now we
are learning about the Periodic Table of Elements. |
* Spanish *
We
are learning about Spanish verbs and vocabulary. We’ve learned
how to say our likes and dislikes and have learned the parts of
a town. We make Spanish calendars every month as well. |
* French *
In
French we are currently learning how to order food from a restaurant.
We have learned how to conjugate like, play, and have. In AE we’re
learning about French artists and later on we will be writing
an essay on them. |
