Symposium
It’s time for the symposium! It was the Friday before vacation, April 18, to be exact and it was the Greek Symposium for the 6th graders. By 12:40 every 6th grader was in the cafeteria waiting to try some delicious food that was Greek style. There were all sorts of foods like cake, candy, pastries, breads, salads, meats and much more! We also had the BEST lemon Italian ice! We played many fun games too. We got to tap our red eggs together, to see who won, and we got to do a game that we called dregs. In dregs you have to throw a wet cotton ball at a plate that was balanced on a cone. We also had… DANCING! We did two types of dances. In one dance you would take four steps forward, and jump back on one foot. Then you would take two steps, turn, and repeat. In the other dance you would form a circle, grab on to each other’s shoulders, and do step cross to the right. The way we were dressed was amazing! Almost all of us were wearing… CHITONS! The Chitons ranged from tiny to huge depending on your height. Some Chitons were striped, some plain, and sometimes the occasional pattern! The belts were astonishingly beautiful. Now that you have heard all about our Greek symposium, take a look below at some pictures of the event!! By: Sierrarose, Rebecca, and Kaitlin (Grade 6)
